Hit the Road Jack Part 1.

While perusing my local T.J. Maxx, I discovered a relic from my early teens. Jack Purcell Converse sneakers! In my size! I slipped them on my little feet and was immediately transported back to time when I donned the classic wardrobe staple in desperate pursuit of preppy friends and a desire to fit in with the polished crowd of Coronado Middle School. While sitting in that poorly lit outlet store, I made a decision. No longer would this blue-soled sneaker be a symbol of my adolescent social desperation! I'm taking back the Jack! After all, this shoe has been worn by way cooler people then that stupid b**** Cassie O'Brien. James Dean was photographed wearing these sweat kicks! Americana at its finest and the rebellious cousin to that over-worn Chuck Taylor.

Howdy Ombre...

Let me just say, I am crazy about Ombre coloring right now! I just love the way the color goes from dark to light as if its bleeding right of the garment. After searching endlessly for the perfect ombre garments, I have decided to try my hand at making my own. With a little Rit dye, some ingenuity, and a feline assistant, I can confidently tell you that I believe my project is a success. I can't wait to try different colors and fabrics. I think i found my calling...

Rain

I opened my eyes
And looked up at the rain,
And it dripped in my head
And flowed into my brain,
And all that I hear as lie in my bead
Is the slishity-slosh of the rain in my head.

I step very softly,
I walk very slow,
I can't do a handstand-
I might overflow,
So pardon the wild crazy thing I just said-
I'm just not the same since there's rain in my head.

Gushing

It is a very rare occasion that I acknowledge my personal life on a blog but here it is: my boyfriend can, at times, be ridiculously cute and my friends can be incredibly talented. With that said, here's a short video my talented friend Anthony took of my cute boyfriend Tyson. Read more at www.anthonylevas.blogspot.com

Wouldn't it be nice if...

...I had the Classic truck of my dreams.

...I had a vintage travel trailer for fun camping trips.

...I had a neat old set of luggage.

....My friends and I had the financial means to eat out AND pay our bills.

For der Svenskar

Its been such a long time! But I'm back, and I'm inspired. Perhaps its the change of weather here in San Diego. Its been chilly, and rainy, and perfectly Autumnal. With the onset of blustery days, and nippy nights, comes my craving for all things comforting; Hot chocolate, fuzzy blankets, and cozy sweaters. Every year, about this time, myself and Lily, begin the search for the perfect cardigans, chunky knits, and sweat sweaters. This year I find myself drawn to all things Scandinavian. Normally I'm not keen on prints, but Norwegian sweaters give me a casual geometric print and classic look. They just beg to be worn while shopping along a wharf for a new pair of clogs, some rye bread, and Eukland linen. If all you enjoy about Svenskar culture is mass produced, build-it-yourself furniture, meatballs, and the um blot, then I suggest you buff up on the Baltic Sea and all its people has to offer.
